Pre-stamped 5 1/8" width X 3" height one cent US Postal Card, sent from Fernandina on 17 November 1883 and received in Columbus, Ga., on 19 November 1883 at 8 AM.
Hand-stamped in purple ink on the reverse, "If not called for in 10 days, return to MODE BROS., DRY GOODS, CLOTHING, Notions, Etc., FERNANDINA, FLA."
The postal card, written in cursive script, reads,"Gentlemen, Why don't you send us samples of your checks [the textile patterns]? This is the 2nd time [we've written you for] check samples. Attend at once. Mode Bros."
