A very old and very unusual set of knuckles with an hardwood insert. The knuckles measure about 4 3/4" width X 2 1/2" height X 1/4" thick. The rectangular wooden insert, set into an hole through the grip and secured by a ferrous screw through the bottom of the base, measures about 2 3/4" width X 1/2" height X 3/4" thick. The set weighs slightly under 8 ounces and, save for the inset wood, has been coated to give it a subdued finish. Whilst obviously not a factory or a production piece, it is made exceptionally well, with all edges rounded. It is a comfortable, by any standards substantial set, a tribute to the craftsman who made it so many years ago.

Another style of two-finger brass knuckles, this set is 3" overall height with 1 1/2" impact protrusions that taper to sharp points. Smooth, high-polish, mirror-finish surface.
This one-finger brass knuckle measures 2 1/8" width X 1 3/4" height and has an high-polish, mirror-finish surface. The top is double-bevelled to a sharp edge.
